Creating a Joomla backend menu entry for editing a list

I'm looking for a way to add an "edit list xy"-link directly to the backend menu of Joomla.
How can I do that (without creating a package!)?

You could try a third party extensions that allows for custom admin menus. I've never tried it, but this one seems to do what you need:

http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension/administration/admin-navigation/admin-menu-manager

... and then just copy and paste the edit link you need in to it.

Well, that's exactly what I did Thanks anyway!
However, still surprising that Fabrik does not have a builtin function for that - seems to be a very fundamental function for people who do not want to build a package...

Not sure what you mean.
You can edit any list via Components/Fabrik/Lists or the Fabrik Quick Icon menu.

BTW: packages is VERY work in progress and shouldn't be used (and I can't see what a package would help for editing lists)

It's the first time I recall ever being asked for this. Typically if something is a fundamental function, we get asked for it a little more often than once a decade.

Also if it's something easily do-able through another extension specifically designed for doing it, there's little point in us reinventing the wheel, creating more code for us to maintain.
