Form Field Entry Filter

Enter a few first or last name letters, and pull up the closest values in the user table...
How would I accomplish this ... any pointers would be appreciated

I ended up using the "user" element with name, and in this case, it works nicely but if you stop the stream of characters and resume it starts the field over with the next letter you type for the autofill i.e. type "chey" hesitate then resume with "enne" it lists "enne" not "cheyenne"
