Hi,
here's the situation: I work in a public library and need to create a list of daily amount of people who read our newspapers. Our staff will just have to fill the form where they select date, select newspaper's title and input amount of poeple who read the newspaper that day. Simple, isn't it.
So I've created 2 lists:
List 1:
field Magazine titles
List 2
date Date of visit (DOV)
databasejoin Magazine title (MT) (List 1 as dropdown)
field Amount of people reading the title (AOPRTT)
All I need is to have list(s), which can:
1) group magazines by MT and sum all AOPRTTs,
2) group dates by DOV and sum all AOPRTTs
So in both cases all I wanted was two ways of grouping (by DOV or by MT) and receiving subtotal for every group.
The first one was rather easy to achieve. I grouped the records by MT, set the element AOPRTT to sum in list view, with split on MT element. Mission accomplished - I have a nice table of collapsed groups with correct subtotals.
Alas, no matter what I do, I simply cannot make the list to group by DOV and show me subtotals - all I see below each group is the same sum of all the groups.
What am I doing wrong?
