Is it possible to show a result of a query in a heading or article?

Is it possible to show a result of a query in a heading or article? For instance, if I want to write a sentence either at the top of a list, or in an article, something like:

the total sales for blue jumpers is 26 and the total sales for red jumpers is 65.

the total sales for blue jumpers is {select sum(blue) from jumper_sales} and the total sales for red jumpers is {select sum(red) from jumper_sales}

Yes, that would have been my suggestion, and is how I include any custom code I need in intro text or articles.
