Max char limit for textarea is not working when WYSIWYG Editor is selected in fabrik

Hi,

I am using 'Text Area' plug-in for an element, Max char limit for textarea is working (on front-end) when simple editor is selected, but it is not working when WYSIWYG Editor is selected in fabrikar.

Could some one guide me, if you had same issue and resolved it?

What editor did you use ?
I tested it with both TinyMCE and JCE (latest version) on the latest GitHub version and J! 2.5.7 and they both work with char limit.
I could not get CodeMirror working though, but I never used it and maybe there is more config to do.

I am using

J! 2.5.7
Fabrikar 3.0.6 (Updated with very latest patches too, from my Admin))
Editor TinyMCE

I have tested several times like one time without WYSIWYG Editor, one time with WYSIWYG Editor.

What I observed was, Max Char Limit is working fine (Showing how many char left) when 'WYSIWYG Editor' is not used.

It's working fine on my site, too (TinyMCE +JCE);
Maybe your Joomle template is breaking some JS code.

Do you have any JS error on the page? You can use Firebug to find out.

That's right, there seems to be no errors.
Can you try to switch to one of the default J! template and see if it is still not working?

I can replicate the issue:
if textarea is in a joined group you can see a JS error
didnt find wysiwyg edtor ...join[12][schueler___svorname] mootools-ext.js:115
(fabrikdebug=1)

ramki - can you confirm whether your textarea is in joined group and/or repeating group?

Yes the Text Area is in joined group.
