Upgrade Joomla & Fabrik to 3.3.2

I'm on J2.5 with an old Fabrik Github version.
Now I want to upgrade everything to latest versions. I just have some little questions.
1. it probably makes sense to wait for Fabrik 3.3.2, is there a more precise release date than March? http://fabrikar.com/blog
2. I guess I should update by uploading the 3.3.2. extionsion zip file instead of doing the latest Github update, right?
3. If I upload the extension what happens to non standard elements like calc, ...?
4. Should I do the Github update right after the 3.3.2 update?
5. is it a good idead to do the J! update after Fabrik update?

Thanks guys!

old GitHub version: Fabrik3.0 (Git joomla2.5 branch) or Fabrik3.1+ (git joomla3 branch)?

If you are already on Fabrik3.1+ (i.e. and onld GitHub-joomla3-branch-version) you can update from GitHub (joomla3 branch) and then update Joomla.
But you have to make sure that on Joomla3+ you have a bootstrap BS2 Joomla template and that all your forms/details/lists are using Fabrik bootstrap templates.

If you are still on Fabrik3.0 (with an old GitHub-joomla25-branch, former GitHub-master-branch) you have to migrate

No. The branch name is a bit misleading.

joomla2.5 branch = Fabrik3.0.9+

joomla3 branch = Fabrik3.3.1+
Fabrik3.3.1 is running on Joomla3+ and on Joomla2.5 (but not recommended)

Hi Joit.
Something unrelated, but you may want to fix a typo in your cookies banner ("enfance" -> "enhance"). What are you using for that control?

Thanks for the hint! To make this thread not so much off topic I wrote you a pm

Back to upgrade:
I would try (I assume you are doing it on a copy of your site)
  • Disable Fabrik system plugin (maybe not necessary but shouldn't hurt)
  • GitHub-joomla3 update directly
  • update Joomla to 3.4.1
  • enable Fabrik system plugin
  • do all the Fabrik3.0 to 3.1+ migration stuff (dates, templates, js...)
For dates and element add/edit form access I've added an example script (no warranty)

Hi guys,
thank you very much for your help!
I did the upgrade and all went fine. I also applied troesters script for one table and it went through. But the element filters don't work at all. If I apply a date filter, it alway returns "no data available". Any ideas?

Can you check all your date element settings? (formats, filters...)
Maybe something is missing in the script.

Are you running the Fabrik bootstrap templates (and a Joomla bootstrap one like Protostar)?
Did you clear Joomla and browser cache (to get rid of old JS)?
Can you see a JS error?
Do you have a link?

Thanks troester,

I played around with the filter settings of the date element and is has to be set to "Exact match" now!

We are in need of some funding.
More details.

Thank you.
