Accessing User Details from within form_x.js

I have looked all over and not able to find how I can access the userID of the current user with in the form_x.js. I want to be able to setup a way that when a user selects a specific option in a databasejoin element that another element is updated with that users details. I originally was doing this with a calc element but the issue was that if someone else opened the record the user would be updated just because that status was set when the record was loaded. By using the elements JavaScript I believe I can set to only update on change via form_x.js and passing the user back if the specific status is selected with the databasejoin element.

Not quite sure, if I understand your problem in detail. You mentioned, that a calc field doesn't work, because it changes values during load. As far as I can see, there is an option in the calc-field to do the calculation only on save

Did you try to set this option to yes?
