Date element Format 'W' problem

The date field in list and form display as 'W' week of year, does not work / display.
It just display 'V' All other display formats work well.
Used plugin 'date' as type.

So are you using W or V ?
I can't replicate, W (and w) are working fine in list, form, details view.
"V" is no valid date format.

I am using W not V. It displays a V in that field once I selected the date. It definitely does not work. All the other formats work perfectly - but W does not.

List, form, details are displaying "W" correctly if displaying existing dates (This is done via PHP and therefore working)

But a click on the calendar widget inserts V instead of week number, it seems JS doesn't know "W" even with "Advanced formats" enabled.
Workaround: use W only in list format
