HI

Fabrik 3.1a
joomla 3.0.2
localhostserver
wampserver
(64 bits & PHP 5.3) 2.2EApache 2.2.22 ? Mysql 5.5.24 ? PHP 5.3.13 XDebug 2.1.2 XDC 1.5 PhpMyadmin 3.4.10.1 SQLBuddy 1.3.3 webGrind 1.0

On list screen when I click on view data I get the following error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ')' in C:\wamp\www\ct3\components\com_fabrik\views\list\view.base.php on line 439

Is this download or GitHub version?
To update fabrik3.1 from GitHub you have to use the joomla3 branch/zip

I don't think 64bit/php5.3 are a problem, it's running (in principle) on my 64bit xampp

Thanks troester

NOw I'm getting confused since you told me to use a download version
pkg_fabrik_3.1a.zip

Which by the way it only allow me to do the installation on my localserver by uploading unzipped files into temp folder

1. I downloaded fabrik-master.zip (joomla3 branch/zip)
2. use the joomla 3.0.2 extension manager
3. install the whole file over the download version?

and got the following error
JInstaller: :Install: Joomla XML cofiguration file not found

As far as I know (I have a local repository, so I don't use this way)

Goto GitHub https://github.com/Fabrik/fabrik/tree/joomla3
download "ZIP" (it's showing me fabrik-joomla3.zip)
then do the normal GitHub update (unzip, upload files...), in Joomla extension manager only do purge/refresh cache or discover additional plugins (no update)

TROESTER

Now I'm getting disapointed with this version of fabrik
It seems there's a lack of organization

1. First download version
2. fabrik-master.zip
3. The GitHub to update fabrik for joomla 3.0

has a file called
Fabrik-fabrik-3.1a-314-gaffdfc3.zip

(which I already installed) and still have new errors

NOW I can access the import CSV, but I fill in the form
and click continue I got the following error

Fatal error: Call to undefined method JFactory::getAppplication()
in C:\wamp\www\ct3\components\com_fabrik\models\importcsv.php on
line 231

4. Now https://github.com/Fabrik/fabrik/tree/joomla3
has a different file
fabrik-joomla3.zip

Don't know if this is an installable file or not
In case it is will replace similar files, but what about if some
buggy files remains?

I know your intentions are good and I really thank you for that
But it seems that no one is taking care of having the right file
to download.

I have seen about 5 files in the las couple of hours

I do not know what to do Troester...

Since fabrik not working on localserver I feel no confidence in moving to live site
Should I use wamp 32 bits?
My DB type on joomla 3.0.2 is MySQLi
Fabril reports NO conflicts conecting to DB

What should I do?

Fabrik3.1 is ALPHA, so don't use it on a production site and don't use it if you don't want to handle any issues.

Fabrik IS working on a local server (I've running different versions on my 64bit windows7 xampp)

The way to install it:
download pkg_fabrik_3.1a.zip from the fabrik download area:
this zip is installable, but it is an older version
install it to get the database setup

Then update from GitHub joomla3 branch to get the recent 3.1a version.
GitHub zips are not installable, you have to upload the included files, overriding the old ones.

The fabrik-master.zip is fabrik3.0.7, NOT fabrik3.1

Thanks TROESTER

I do apologize if I sounded mean to you... what's not my intention
Would you please let me know which version of Xampp you are using
I'm using Wamp server

Thanks

XAMPP
1.7.7
[PHP: 5.3.8]

which is not the latest version
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html

Well there is a pretty well organised wiki page that deals with this:
http://fabrikar.com/forums/index.php?wiki/update-from-github/

It probably covers ever single issue you had.

As long as you server installation matches Joomla' 3's mininum requirements then there is no need to update it.

And as Troester says its ALPHA software - we don't recommend it being run on a live site, we don't support it on live sites, use it on a live site at your own risk and be confident with updating from git, before you consider installing this on a live site.

We are in need of some funding.
More details.

Thank you.
