Use of (KML) overlay in googlemap visualization

Googled around and tried this evening to get it working but failed in showing any overlay in the overlay section of the googlemap visualisation ( https://resfarm.info/index.php/en/results-farmers-survey/map-overview-results ) - Yes the sidebar is showing but no data in the map. Tried a few online kml examples but could not get a working one.
Does someone have a working example of a online kml file which I can get to work in order to have an example. Does someone have ideas or experience in making this work? I looked around at this forum but it looks like the development of this function stopped two years ago? Or am I missing something?

I haven't tested that code in a long time. I added it as a fun exercise in learning KML, and I don't think anyone has ever really used it.

I'll test here and let you know if it works for me.

BTW, I can't see your page because:

403: Access Forbidden
Your location (US) has been blacklisted.

What's an example of the KML files you are trying to use?

Tried with some KML files by searching on google filetype:kml (examples I tried: https://www.globalgiving.org/globalgiving.kml and www.visualtravelguide.com/Germany.kml ) But I do not really know were to look for. Just need one (or some) working examples. Filled in the Chicago example

Looks like there's an issue with the "group by" sidebar ... can you try turning that off.

I'm working on that here, hopefully have a fix in a few mins.

Tried

and
http://googlemaps.github.io/js-v2-samples/ggeoxml/cta.kml
Turned group by sidebar off. Removed the first instance of overlay URL (Germany) and yes, http://googlemaps.github.io/js-v2-samples/ggeoxml/cta.kml is working!
Next step would be to create a kml myself I guess or finding quality .kml files which can be used. Thanks for helping!
It is going to be too late again (Netherlands) and should go sleeping again. Will be continued. Thanks for taking this up.
