Advanced Search for Date fields not working?

I have a list that has the original 'Date' field when creating a new list and several other Date fields. I have implemented an 'Advanced Search' and it works fine for all the fields except 'Date'. I'm using the 'Equals' condition and when I click the date button icon, expecting a calendar to pop up, nothing happens.

I think it has never worked for jdate element, but works with the "old" date element.

Can I use the old date element instead jdate? How?

Just change the element type from jdate to date. Remember that within one form you cannot have both, date and jdate elements, mixed.
