Cascading dropdown not refreshing after javascript show/hide

Hi guys,
I have a stranege (for me ) problem. I have two cascading dropdown fields and a "main" dropdown field.
The main dropdown loads from tha database corectly and have Javascript assigned to hide the "child" cascadingdropdown field if the value is "1". The Javascript works fine and hides the cascadingdropdown and shows it if the value changes. But it in this case the cascading dropdown doesn refresh and does not loads the values correctly. If I disable the javascript the values of the dropdown are loaded correctly, but it is always visible. The thing is that Javascript and Cascading dropdown are working separately, but not together.
Did someone experiended the same problem.

Some update on this is that ... if there is a javascrip added to the 1 element (no mather what it does) the second element doesn't refresh and load any values. Looks like the first element doesn't fire the "on change" event or something like that.
