dropdown with please select

dbjoin dropdowns have - by default - please select options. Why isn't there an option in regular dropdowns?

Yes, although using the word 'null' might be problematic (in certain albeit rare corner case scenarios), you might want to use 0 (numeral zero) instead.

Now you can add (say) a validation like "is not 0" if you want to force a selection.

And I suspect you'd want to use that as the default.
