Need help with CSS editing

I want to change the label length on my form so that the label will all be on 1 line instead of it wrapping and showing on 2 or 3 lines.

I used firebug in firefox to find the label length and it showed that the default length is 100PX, so I want to change it to 300PX.

The firebug indicated that it is located in the template.css which would be the actual template I am using for the whole site... this won't work.

Am I looking in the wrong place?

Does anyone know where I can locate the CSS file I would use to make the edits I mentioned above?

I looked there but I am still confused as to how I can just chgnage the label width.

Can someone direct me to where I can just change the label width from the default to 300px?

Well, I have almost same questions.

I wonder whether and how could I do so: globally the elements are using the current template css but in particular groups they use css from another template?
