paypal requirements?

I have a new project which requires paypal for payments, does the payment account need a special account or to pay for the merchant account? Or does it only require the free business level account? Thanks.

The payer needs either a standard Paypal account and/or can use their credit card depending on their country of origin.
Beyond that I'm sure paypal has good documentation on what is or is not currently recommended for seller accounts, last time I looked it was recommended that the seller account be verified.

I confirm that the basic business account is working fine (I did not even know there was a paying one).
