Populate database join element from querystring

How can I pre-populate a database join element in a form using a query string value? When set to auto-populate, I can see the value is arriving in the field, but it's not showing the label value.

There's a long blurb about working with Ajax in the database join element portion of the wiki, but it all went way over my head.

&tablename___dbjoinelementname_raw=somevalue
to your url should do. And of course make sure that "somevalue" is the value not label of the dbjoin element.

Well if it was drop down list, yes that would work (without _raw) but it doesn't seem to work on a db join field. I tried another form I have with a db join field, and it doesn't seem to accept qs values either.

Oh brother! I should hang up the towel for the day. It works fine. Total brain fart! I was using the wrong number.
