Pre-Filters and Public Viewing

I think I am right, but just want to be sure...

There is no way to not require logging in and still hope to have a person see whatever answers they put into a form... is there? As in, cookies or some other such thing?

I don't mind requiring people to log in, but it sometimes causes issues with the speed at which they can get to the site. I deal with impatient people.

However, if I want to offer them a form to fill in, and then they go back - it's blank. If I required them to have an account, then pre-filters the record to show then their record - they would see it.

That's the only answer. Right?

Thanks in advance.

It would be possible with cookies (as long as they aren't deleted):
add a calc element to create an unique random value (e.g. hash), calc on save only=yes
add a form plugin runPhp to create the cookie
add a prefilter fetching the cookie and filter the calc element with this cookie

We are in need of some funding.
More details.

Thank you.
