Problems with installation / German version

Hi,

I am testing right now Fabrik and other CCK Extensions for this project:

(can't create a link, so just google for "DadAWeb 3.0 + Projektrelaunch")

Factory and Seblod have come shortlisted. Factory is my personal favorite.

I'm really impressed by the factory extension for Joomla 2.5. But I had problems with installing latest version (pkg_fabrik_3.0.8.zip) in the full package. The only solution I've found was to install first the main factory component and afterwards all the modules und plugins out of the TMP-directory of the Joomla installation.

But I have the feeling that the installatiuon was not complete. So there is for example the comment plugin missing. I have loaded it down from the download section but the system will not install ist. I get the (german) error messages:

Die Manifest-Datei konnte nicht gefunden werden.
(the manifest file could not be found)

and

Fehler bei der COM_INSTALLER_TYPE_TYPE_fabrikplugin-Installation.
(error in COM_INSTALLER_TYPE_TYPE_fabrikplugin-Installation)

I have the feelding the my installation of fabrik is somehow messed up. Can somebody tell my what went wrong or better: how to install Fabrik for Joomla 2.5 in a proper and complete way?

Thanks in advance and best regards from Potsdam/Germany

Which ones?
Did you follow http://fabrikar.com/forums/index.php?wiki/installation-instructions/ ?

Depending on your host's restrictions the file size may be to large. In this case you should use Joomla's " install from the directory" (Erweiterungen/Installieren/Aus Verzeichnis installieren)

I can only see a Fabrik2.1.1 comment plugin in the download area, you can't use this in Fabrik3.0.

If you are downloading additional plugins make sure to get the correct version.

In any case it's wise to update from GitHub after the installation to get the latest code.

After this you can also get additional plugins.

Thanks for your advice - it was "troestlich" ;-). We will try the GitHub installation, and I will give afterwards my feedback how it worked out in case somebody else has also this problem.

We are in need of some funding.
More details.

Thank you.
