Record Colors

I have 5 categories, that each record must be assigned for only one category.

for example: the categories are:
New Arrivals
Featured
Clearance
... etc..
So when I view the records in the data view grid:
if the item is new arrival I will see green icon on the beginning of the record.
if the item is featured, I will see yellow icon ... etc

How that can be done. as I would like to use color code based on the category.

Assuming you have an element (dropdown, dbjoin) holding the category:

For the list view you can define an element as "use as row class" and then add custom CSS to style the element (or the complete row)
and/or you can replace the element with icons
