How do I selectively update the required files from github without including all of the extra plugins and rifraff that is included in the github .zip? Just the fabrik_build folder is 8mb which I would prefer to not have on my production server.

You need to download to your PC, unpack and then upload only the following root folders:

administrator
components
libraries
media
modules
plugins

What about all of the plugins we don't want? We have to go through them one by one?

There are a number of threads asking for this information and none of them were answered, finally we have updated info on how to accomplish this simple task.

Community forum is community help.
And if a thread isn't bumped it's supposed to be solved.

prophoto: Fabrik is an open source product rather than a commercial product, and as troester says, free support is provided by the community - both troester and myself are just users like you, and we help others as a contribution to recognise the benefit we get from this free software.

If you have an accelerated time-line and you need more prompt support, perhaps from the primary developers of Fabrik, then please consider buying a Professional Subscription as an alternative way of giving something back to the developers.

Based on the help I have received in the last few days I would consider it. Then I look at how many unanswered questions there are in the forum, lack of v3 tutorials, incorrect wiki entries and it makes me wonder where my money is going and if I will really get the help I need in a timely fashion. The unwritten rule of having to post a question then bump it to get an answer is not good business.

Rob and Hugh prioritise their time heavily towards the Pro forums, plus they use live chat. So if you have an accelerated timeline, then paying what is a very modest amount as a Pro subscription gets you priority time from the two people who know most about the software.

That is why they have little time for helping answer question in this Community forum, which as the name suggests is for the community to help one another.

Sounds like a good deal, until I see the glaringly obvious issues that make me wonder if it will be a waste of money...

Perhaps your needs would be better suited by a commercial product which costs (say) EUR50000 to buy and (say) EUR2000 per month for maintenance and (say) EUR200 per hour for consultancy.

And in my experience (as a professional IT manager who has purchased such products and support on numerous occasions), you would still get better support here than you would from these commercial organisations.

Where would the potential customer find the refund policy if they are not satisfied with the support they receive?

This thread is in a Community forum, so the subscription here is free anyway. The other thread referred to above is in the Standard Subscription forum, and you had a reply to your "me too" in less than 24 hours (cf. the 3 days target) and are still not happy and asking about Refund policies.

But, if you had bothered to look before asking, the refund policy is not hidden in any small print but is clearly stated up front on the subscription page for any potential customers to read before subscribing:

What is your refund policy?
We don't offer refunds on paid subscriptions. If you're just getting started with Fabrik and aren't sure if you need a paid subscription yet, sign up for our Free membership and you can access the manual and community support forums.

Thanks for locking the other thread hopefully you are finished calling me out. I would gladly return the favor and help the community but can't get answers on my threads so how can I do so? Thanks for your help making my decision on paid subscriptions.
