Showing data from a list

I'm sure this is easy but I'm not seeing it.

I have a vendortype list that has a bunch of categories
Art group
Ceramics
Etc

Then I have a vendor list that when the vendor signs up, contains their details.

How can I display
Vendor types on a page, click each type shows a list of vendors under that type. Click the vendor goes to a shortened vendor details?

Trying to do this:

Pretty sure I need some additional lists, just not sure how to join the data or use relation data...

Not sure if I'm not clear or if this is so easy that I should be able to figure it out.

Love Fabrik but I hate the learning curve. Feel like I've spent the week pulling out my hair and getting nowhere.

Sorry for the delay in replying....

We do have a tutorial on this '06 - Related data'

First, for this to work, your vendors list should have a database element pointing to the 'vendor types' list, allowing the selection of a vendor type when creating the vendor. From your initial post I think you have already done this.

Next edit your 'vendor types' list
Select the data tab and go to the 'related data' section
You should see two sub sections 'lists' and 'forms'
As we want to link to a list we will be working in the 'lists' subsection
You should see one entry whose 'Table' entry is labelled 'vendors'
select 'yes' for it's "link to list" option
Save your list

Then if you view your vendor types list in the front end, you will see an additional column added containing links.

These links will take you to the vendor list, filters on the link's row's vendor type.

If you want to edit the link's labels you can go back and edit the same section of the vendor type list and enter the label text in the 'button text' field.

I got the category to show up as a link. Click that and it does show me the list of categories. It also shows vendors with Add but none of the vendors seem to be showing up since they all list (0) for vendors even though I know there are vendors in a couple of the categories.
