Trouble with CDD element

To anyone who is willing to help,

Been messing with this for a day and finally have come to ask for help.

Just starting out making a website and I am unable to make this element work. I have not programmed in years but studying up on all different parts of languages needed for the web. Fabrik is awesome. I just need some guidance and direction and I can rock and roll with this.

Anyway, I am able to join the table to the element in both drop downs but am unable to make the link from the secondary drop down to the primary box ( which I have set up as a databasejoin in both scenarios).

DBJ ELEMENT:​

NAME: CDD_Continent​

LABEL: Continent​

Plugin: databasejoin​

DATA​

For theDBJ, I select the following:​

Render as: Dropdown​

Connection: site database​

List: Continent​

Id: id[Recommended]​

Label: Continent ( options: id, date time, Continent, Continent ID)​

CDD ELEMENT:​

NAME: CDD_Country​

LABEL: Country​

Plugin: cascadingdropdown​

DATA​

For the CDD, I select the following:​

Render as: Dropdown​

Connection: site database​

List: Country​

Id: id[Recommended]​

Label: Country ( options: id, date time, Country, Active, Abbreviation, Continent ID)​

Watch element: Country​

Foreign Key: Country ( think this is where I break down )​

Have tried different things here. Not sure I am getting the sytax right.​

Have been using something like​

Content_ID=1​

I think syntax is my problem with the advanced fields and all the other java and plugins. Is there a cliff note version how to use the input boxes for these scripts anywhere?
