Using Jing is usually the best way to go. As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. A moving picture at least 10,000. And Jing is free, extremely easy to use, and comes with 2GB of free hosting with ScreenCast. So recording and pushing a screencast up to the cloud is four or five mouse clicks.
