I have an email element and just want a good email validation expression.

Good Morning Rob! I appreciate the help. The isemail was already installed. Unfortunately my developer closed his business so I am learning all this. He also had a regex plugin on the email element. Do I even need the regex?

It depends 
The isEmail uses Joomla's isEmail code, so will allow emails such as "name@domain" (which is considered a valid email, but may not be something you would want to accept from the form).
Possibly the regex was there to cover that eventuality, if its not broken I'd say leave both as they are.
