Filter List Using Drop down and "All"

I am trying to filter a list using an element that is a drop down. In the form, the user has to choose from 8 options and I want to have the ability to filter those options. I chose a drop down filter, since there aren't many. the problem is, the filter doesn't give the option, "All", like some of the other filters do. The filters that have "All" I've noticed, are field elements. So, when I apply a filter, then want to see the entire list, it won't let me clear what I've previously searched for. Clear Filters simply applies the first option on the drop down filter list. Any ideas?

Yeah, you kinda have to roll your own. Have a "Please Select" option in your dropdown, which has a blank value. Selecting that should remove existing filters on that element.

Not ideal, as it means the filter option is "Please select", not "All" ... and one of these days I'll add a specific option into the filter settings for it.
